III points of interest

  • Recently stumbled upon the post, 'Turning 30: 30 Things Every Woman Should Have and Should Know' I was pleasanly surprised when I read this list and it wasn't generic. It raised some good points that I made note of and you may get something out of it too. Although I'm years from 30, I love to get secrets of this thing we call life and made me think about things I would like to do before 30, kind of off topic I know but worth thinking about.

  • I got a kick out of this video and you may too if you're human. It's a parady skit of a guy decribing how relationships are (correction: "ghetto" relationships) LOL I shared with a few friends who weren't into it but it's worth checking out, start video at *1:48.

  • Last but one of the most important videos you may ever see is this one. I challenge you to watch it and really think about what he's saying. I've been guily of some of things Tony says you shouldn't do but thank goodness for youth and learning from mistakes. XO

nail fun

Never been one to sit at home and dazzle my nails but I do appreciate a simple design to add some flair. As I was scrolling through my Pinterest timeline today I came across a few nail tricks that you may appreciate. Check em' out below and share any links that you may have for chic nail designs.

How to do a French Manicure Step 1: Apply a base coat and let dry. It’s important that it is completely dry before you proceed. Step 2: Apply either blue painter’s tape or paper reinforcements to your nail. Step 3: Paint a neon color on the tip, or whatever color you would like to use. Use 2 light coats for coverage. Thick coats are not advisable because it leaves a ridge (you can see one in our ring finger… oops!) Step 4: Remove tape or reinforcement AFTER the polish has dried. Step 5: Apply a coat of clear to set. -via Pinterest

back at it

Hi everyone!

Due to popular demand (*side eye) I'm back again..lol. I stepped away for awhile due to "life happening" and only partake in this because I enjoy it as a hobby. Had a few change of events that happened and it caused all my concentration to be focused on other things. okay, okay...maybe I'm being slighly dramatic but that's truly how I feel sometimes. Although I'm not going to go deeply into the changes in my life I can say they are all positive and I am happy and content. :)

So whats new in the stratosphere...?

  1. Basketball wives is still ratchet tv but its my guilty pleasure
  2. This season's 'Bachelorette' is the prettiest one the show has ever had
  3. Positivity is still THEE best and only way to live
  4. I still love to love
  5. family.friends.purpose..
  6. LAKERS!! :((

running back to "mr.yeah"..

Do you have one?

In case you missed the popular song by The Dream entitled 'Mr.Yeah' the song is about a girl always running back to her Mr. Yeah. You know the one who will be there despite you having a boyfriend, no matter what time of day it is..he deals with your attitudes and you dissappearing for spurts of times only to reappear out of the blue with a text or a call.. I think you get the gist and I'm sure many of you know exactly who "this-man-is" or who he has been in the past.

I admit I have had one..or two..and even though "he" is a great support system to have and I have genuinely cared about him as I'm getting older I think it's time for me to say R-I-P to those souls who fall under this category. I guess it depends how you look at it, some would say wow isn't she selfish and others would call it a strong friendship. But when feelings are involved you know there is some control involved..

I'm starting to ramble so the point of what I'm getting at is it's time for all of us to say, "Goodbye to all the Mr.Yeah's" in your/our life. They are there for your support and for friendship but at the same time they hinder you finding your Mr.Perfect. See, he/they are a clutch, if you will..and we run back to them in times of lonliness or boredom when we really should just let them go. Let them go so we (I) can realize greater realtionships and so they can also realize theirs. Because let's face it the stars aren't adding up in a "Mr.Yeah" situation thats why it doesn't have that "stamp" on it.

So cry those selfish tears gals and move on..you will never realize your mr.perfect playing it safe with mr.yeah.

red my fortune cookie

Hi everyone! This weekend I had much needed time with my girlfriends and if I were to say it was "fun" that would be selling it short. I had a FANTASTIC time! :D There's something about hanging out with my closest girlfriends and being to let loose that does wonders for my soul and this time it was non-stop action. Of my many memories this weekend here is a few that I am going to share! ;)

  • (This is what I said after being frustrated for making the wrong turns. I didn't mean to say it out loud but my gf caught it and died laughing and has since repeatedly reminded me of it.)
  • GREYSTONE!! I really love, love all types of music but I have a new ghetto hit and have been saying it in my head since. "I’m riding around and I’m getting it, it’s mine, I spend it.." ayyyeee!! #dontjudgeme listen here
  • Does your ARCO look like this?

  • Watched the new Tyler Perry movie, 'Good Deeds.' I admit I am a fan of all his movies and what I took away from this one is two things. The first, don't judge what someone else is going through when you don't know their story. The second, and most poingant for me is DO NOT SETTLE. In the movie there is a beautiful couple who lives the perfect life..have great jobs, nice looking, and are planning to get married but something just wasn't right and they decide to go their separate ways. I appreciated they went happily, without one of them cheating or being upset or spiteful. They just realized that "something wasn't right" and that's so important. They were missing passion and a complete fullfillment and that's a point that we should all see and be reminded of.

ps: I love you Shakira & Kecee..oh and I can't forget to shout out Deral <---that's my boy!! XO

Happy Valentine's Day!! XO

Don't you feel like you can fly when you hear him sing?!? *gasp* I haven't been so excited over a artist in a long time and I am too thrilled about this one! His performance at the BET Honors was phenomenal and it's a shame there isn't a clip of it on the web, boooo.. I hope you all had a great VDAY and spent it with your loved ones even if it wasn't a romantic interest. I am in bed..with my little dog at the foot of the bed and am very content with that. I admit, I do have a love in my heart but for now that's where it's going to stay. And I'm good with that! ;)

VDAY Swap Reveal

Valentine's Day Swap 2012.

This was my first swap I've ever done although I've been invited to many..this year I just decided to and I am very happy I did. My swap buddy was Erin (everythingaccordingtoerin, her blog) and we chatted a few times over email and we soon got an idea of likes and dislikes that we were similar so it made this a perfect pairing. Above you will see the goodies that she sent me and I am so happy with all of them! Besides the gifts there is something really cool about meeting someone across the country..and lately I've had a fascination with "strangers," lol or maybe I should call it meeting new people. hahaa..

I really love the nail polish colors she chose for me espcially "easy going" although it's true color is on my finger. It's a very light pink and I love light neutral colors and this brand of polish dries quickly and I appreciate that. Love, love everything..so THANK YOU again Erin! Definitely made my first swap a great one!
